Quick overview

Saving changes

Changes to your website are uploaded in the background so you don't have to wait for changes to be saved before continuing. This makes it very quick to use.

Your changes are saved as you go. Don't worry if your computer gets unplugged or you lose your internet connection while you are editing your site, the worst that can happen is that you will lose your last change.

Editing

Click "Edit website" on the top row. On a slow link it may take a while to load the editor. When you subsequently log in from the same computer the editor will load much quicker. To edit something, just right-click on it. A new window will pop up with a text editor and word processor type controls for formatting your content.

In the text editor, pressing the return key creates a new paragraph, with extra spacing below that line. To get a new line but in the same paragraph so there's no extra spacing press shift-return.

Paragraphs are the "blocks" to which header styles, indents and alignment are applied.

Pages

The panel on the left shows all the pages in your website, to add a new page click the icon. Once you have added a page, click on the page in the left panel to go to that page.

Click the '+' button on the page to add a section to that page. If you have more than one section template you will be given a choice of templates, select "freestyle". You now have an empty section on the page. Right-click on the icon to open up the text editor.

Publishing

When you make changes to your website nobody sees those changes until you publish your website. When you click publish (second row in the middle), all of your pages are published to your live website in one go.

To see your live website, click the link in the top right corner. Remember that you may need to click the refresh button in Internet Explorer when viewing your live website to see the latest version of your web pages.

Pictures

To use images, first click on "Pictures" (second row, on the left). Upload some images then click "Content" to get back to the website editor. Click on the icon and select from the list of images that you have uploaded.
