FoldersIf you have the multi-level menus feature enabled on your website you will be able to add 'folders' as well as pages. A folder does not contain any information itself but is simply a collection of pages. You can move folders around in the same way that you can move pages (see moving pages) and you can 'nest folders within folders. When you click on a menu item that is a folder it links straight to the first page in that folder. The first page in a folder should clearly describe what's in that folder and provide links to important pages within the folder. It should give an overview that confirms to the visitor that they made the right choice in the menu and shows them a clear overview of the folder's content. Why a folder cannot be the first item in a folderBecause a folder forms a link to the first item in that folder, if the first item in a folder were to be a folder you would slide all the way down to the bottom of the stack of subfolders, therefore the system prevents you putting a folder as the first item in a folder. |
