Image quality examples

The 'Preferences' control allows you to choose the quality of the images in your published site. It will not affect the way the image looks in the designer. The designer uses a low quality image as a "placeholder", which makes updating your site quicker.

Please bear in mind that increasing the quality setting can never make the image look any better than the original.

Image quality only applies to JPEG images (files ending with .jpe, .jpg or .jpeg).

These images show how the quality of JPEG images affects the look of the image and the resultant file size.
