Image quality
|
Image qualityUnder the "Images" tab you will see the "Global image quality setting". This allows you to choose the right balance between the quality of the images in your published site and the time they take to load. It will not affect the way the image looks within the CMS. Within the CMS a low quality image is used as a "placeholder", which makes updating your site much quicker. If images look scruffy within the CMS, don't panic, check the result on the published website. Please bear in mind that increasing the quality setting can never make the image look any better than the original! TIP: always upload images at the highest quality, i.e. use images that have not already been "compressed" or "optimised". Once an image is compressed, information is lost forever and the image cannot be "uncompressed". Image quality only applies to JPEG images (files ending with .jpe, .jpg or .jpeg). These images show how the quality of JPEG images affects the look of the image and the resultant file size.
