Some incoming emails get rejected

If you find that people send you emails but they sometimes bounce back with the message 'Message rejected by content filter', check any filters you have set up via webmail.

To do this:

  1. log into webmail
  2. click 'options' in left panel
  3. click 'filters'
  4. click on each individual filter you have set up

Problems can arise if you set the filter to reject mail if subject or body contains a string. For example, if you have a filter set to reject emails with the subject line containing 'sex', any emails containing 'Middlesex', 'Sussex', 'Essex' etc. will also be rejected.
