Put audio or video on your websiteThis is just a matter of converting your audio into the correct file format, uploading the file and linking to it. See uploading files. Non-streamingIf you upload an audio file with a non-streaming format, such as MP3, your visitor will not hear anything until the whole file has downloaded to their browser. Only use this type of file if the intention is to have visitors download the audio file to play later. StreamingStreaming means that after a few seconds your visitors will hear the audio playing, rather than having to wait for the whole file to download. To provide streaming audio you need to convert your audio files into Windows Media format (".wma" extension), then upload using the "files" tab. To convert WAV or MP3 audio files to WMA format, download Windows Media Encoder, (free from Microsoft). In the output options make sure you don't use a bit rate above 32kbps otherwise it will not play well on a dial up connection. |
